2cc Csi + Photo diode array (MPPC) instead of Photo diode
About 6000 cpm/ĘSv/h (similar to PM1703MO-1A/B)
The resolution might be a little less than Chappy detector and PM1703 MO-1A/B.
But we may be able to get better result using .

Back ground in concrete building MEA_TIME 8 Hrs
Cs-137 5 min 31 sec
KCl (K-40) 2 hrs
Co-60 about 10 min
Cs-134 & Cs-137
Resolution isn't so great... PM1703MO-1A is probably better in this area (with 4cc CsI, instead of 2cc iMetry has)
- BUT, iMetry costs about 12 times LESS ! It's big !
Comparison
Chappy detector 3cc version about $600
CsI 12.7~12.7~19mm (3cc) about 4500cpm/ĘSv/h
- Some people are seeing separate peaks for Cs-137 and Cs-134 with Chappy detector. It depends on sound card, PC (USB power supply), etc.
PM1703MO-1A/B 4cc about $3,600
CsI 1.1 x 1.1 x 3.36 cm ? 6000cpm/ĘSv/h- With highly contaminated soil, it's easy to see separate peaks in PM1703MO-1A/B.
But it's expensive. (It comes with very helpful software, though)
Note: U235 lines are there for seeing the peak positions of it. It's not the indication that this spectrum is showing the presence of U235. Just to be sure that nobody starts to shout "Oh! They found U235 in Fukushima!!!!"
